As a new session of the Utah State Legislature gets underway, we’re reminded again of the important role local and special districts play in our daily lives. The people who serve in our districts, in the Utah Association of Special Districts and in the legislature strive to uphold the Constitution’s promise of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
That comes with some lofty expectations. As an organization, UASD and its members adhere to a stringent Code of Ethical Conduct. The cities, counties and Utahns who created the districts expect nothing less. In return, our members’ services encompass award-winning preservation of our water resources, garbage collection, health care, recreation and much more.
You should be confident that we go into these sessions with our fellow Utahns in mind. We support legislation that allows us to secure your quality of life and challenge proposals that might affect our ability to meet your needs.
It’s a heavy responsibility and one we take very seriously. The more you learn about our organization, the more we hope you realize how committed we are to preserving the promises enshrined in the Constitution.
