Every year, we look forward to hosting the UASD Annual Convention. Our team spends all spring and summer scheduling speakers, developing training sessions and planning events for all attendees to enjoy.
Unfortunately, 2020 has been a year unlike any other. August is here, and the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread, affecting rural and densely populated areas simultaneously. With November just a few months away, we didn’t feel comfortable putting the safety of convention-goers at risk. Therefore, we’ve decided to cancel the 2020 UASD Annual Convention.
This wasn’t an easy decision by any means, but it is the right one. The health and well-being of Utahans everywhere is our top priority. In lieu of an in-person convention, we’re thinking about hosting a virtual event in some form. Currently, we’re in the process of hammering out all the details, but we hope to host:
We may even host a social event, such as a virtual meet-and-greet or social.
Again, all of this is still in the early stages of planning. As details become more concrete, we’ll make sure to let you know. In the meantime, we encourage you to visit our website. There, you can find information about joining UASD, news and information about Utah Legislators and Laws, access to board member training and certification, and a digital directory of statutes and resources.
There’s also a member directory, a page dedicated to job openings within the districts we represent and an online contact sheet. If you have any questions, click here to fill out and submit your form.
The 2020 in-person UASD Annual Convention may be canceled, but there’s still a lot to look forward to. To access the latest news and updates, make sure to “like” and “follow” our social media channels.
