We live in challenging times. As we watch events unfold across the country related to health crises, natural disasters, and societal tension, things can begin to feel a bit uncertain and unfamiliar. That’s when it’s more important than ever to look to your local leadership and to make efforts to strengthen the community in which you live. While governmental changes at the national level can certainly impact our lives, local governance will have a more immediate and intimate impact on our day-to-day quality of life. We are proud that local and special service districts are a part of improving the quality of life for Utahns and we at UASD are thrilled to be supporting local districts across Utah as they work to provide essential services like water, sewer, and mosquito abatement.
You may not be aware that we at UASD have a Code of Ethical Conduct that members of the association and members of the Board of District Representatives and of Trustees pledge to uphold. We commit to perform our responsibilities with the highest level of integrity while also accepting responsibility to ensure that all of our interactions are honest, respectful, and in accordance with local laws and mandates. Members have access to the entire code of conduct and in fact they are asked to pledge to uphold the code. Consider becoming a member today to receive full access to the plentiful resources and support that UASD can offer.
As defined in the dictionary, ethics are “moral principles that govern a person’s behavior or the conducting of an activity.” Ethics are essential to the proper flow of interaction between individuals and business entities alike. A code of conduct provides a common ground for interaction on all levels and we are proud to have a written code that will ensure the highest level of conduct for all of our members.
