Gather round! You won’t want to miss this, what we have in store for our 30th annual Utah Association of Special Districts convention, “Leading and Serving with Excellence.” And if you’ve ever attended our conventions before, you know we promise nothing less Nov. 7-9 at the Davis Conference Center in Layton.
There’s still time to register for three days of networking, training and presentations, including a keynote address by Lt. Governor Spencer Cox.
And there’s a little fun worked into mix, too, with the One Voice Children’s Choir performing at our annual Awards Banquet on Nov. 8.
Back to business – we’ll close with our review of the 2019 Legislative Package, in preparation for the upcoming general session in January.
Here are a few more of our highlights:
Wednesday, Nov. 7, is devoted to training, including the annual Certification Training for newly elected or appointed board members and the Open Meetings Training required for all board members. We make it easy to get them out of the way. (Pssst! Check out the Records Essentials for Government Records Officers – GRAMA Training – too!)
Note that we also offer a registration for Wednesday only for those who cannot attend the full three days. (Wednesday is already included in the full registration.
On Thursday, Nov. 8, we’ll introduce our new Pocket Guide for Board Members. And presentations throughout the day, including the keynote address, explore issues we’re facing today and the resources available to address them, leading and serving with excellence. That’s got a nice ring to it!
And don’t miss our closing breakfast, featuring a presentation by former CIA officer James M. Olsen. Click here to register now. And make sure you mention that you’re attending the convention if you book a room at the Hilton Garden Inn by Oct. 24, as long as rooms are available.
